A Long Overdue Catch-up!

I know, it’s been too long! Life really took over. Mostly my long-awaited spine op that finally took place on the 5th December 2015! I’m pleased to report that it was an absolute success! It was the longest, darkest months of my life after the op, but it definitely changed my life for the better! If you want to know anything at all, please ask me! I remember struggling for anything remotely like genuine information as I was going through the process myself.

I couldn’t have survived this without my wonderful surgeon Thanos Tsirikos, Hilary my wonderful nurse, Greg my wonderful fiancé and my incredible family. Having an amazing mum that’s also an experienced nurse is THE. BEST. THING. EVER. Keep your loved ones close. They make the biggest difference.

So, what else has happened since I last typed on here? Well, quite a lot actually!
Greg and I have been to various weddings of family on his side, two of my cousins announced they are expecting (sisters! So excited!!), I asked my cousins to be my bridesmaids, I've been on placements that completely broadened my understanding and practice as a teacher, and hopefully some life-long friends!

I've also recently joined Slimming World. The lack of movement post-op and eating my feelings has definitely caught up with me! My self-esteem has been at an all time low lately, so this has been a positive decision for me. I earned my ½ stone award in just two weeks! Already feeling 100% better and currently have everything crossed this keeps going! If you want to keep updated with my progress, feel free to follow me on Instagram @swjuly2018bride! I'll be updating this every so often but Instagram is definitely the best place to find out how I'm doing!

Most importantly…
I'M GRADUATING AS A PRIMARY TEACHER!!!!

Only those who know me well enough understand what a big deal this is to me. This dream come true was 25 years, many tears of happiness and heartbreak, late nights, Tesco meal deals, copious amounts of chocolate, endless word counts and many damp shoulders in the making. My life from here on out will only be better. I feel it can’t be much worse than the last little while!

Anyway. Enough talking about me, I'm not brilliant at it anyway! I hope you’re celebrating all the little things in life. Drop me a comment if you’ve read this, as I don’t think anyone does!

Speak soon,

Kirsty xxx
